In the Astronist philosophy of religionpopular religion is a phrase of disputed origins that was first explored by Cometan post-omnidoxically. It denotes the form and manifestations of religion that are concurrent and integrated with popular culture, namely in the fields of music, literature, film, television, celebrity, sports, news, politics, fashion, technology, video games, and other media.

Religions have existed alongside popular culture since the emergence of the term popular culture with both influencing one another in a variety of different ways with fluctuations in the extent of impacts.

Popular religion is sometimes argued as holding a positive impact on the popularity of religions, mainly observing that the involvement of religions in popular culture provides them with extensive awareness. However, in recent years, there have existed consistent criticisms of popular religion of undermining the solemnity of the dogmas of particular religions in a way that trivialises practices and reduces their sacredness with arguably negative impacts on religions.
